Marrying Anita/ Collectivitea

The weekend is here and it is such a relief! The book selection is Marrying Anita: A Quest For Love In The New India by Anita Jain. In this book, American journalist Anita Jain moves from New York to New Delhi to find out if an old-fashioned, arranged marriage is the answer to her single status woes. This was an interesting read because I’ve always considered arranged marriages as the precursors to dating sites and apps. Of course, every marriage is different and there is no telling what will work or won’t for any 2 people, so it’s always fascinating to read first-person accounts on the trials and tribulations of meeting the right person and working towards a happily ever after.  Here’s a link to an article the author wrote for NY magazine, “Is Arranged Marriage Really Any Worse Than Craigslist?” and you can find the book here. If you’ve read this, I would love to hear your thoughts. Cut yourself a slice of cake (this pistachio pound cake will go well with it), brew a pot of tea and enjoy!
