As promised, we are here to brighten your Monday with more pictures from Meera’s home tour (part 1 is here). Brew a pot of tea, and settle down to visit this gorgeous home! This post focuses on the foyer, the formal living and dining rooms and Meera’s collection of beautiful tea pots! In this part of the house, the earth colors are in full evidence and provide pops of color against neutral walls. It’s that mix and match of new and old, contemporary and vintage, East and West, that really stands out. Meera let’s us in on the details..
“I love red, orange and yellow. So that’s the predominant color theme for the front of the home. We have a repurposed Singer sewing machine as our foyer table. We got it at a local consignment store. It was fairly beaten up, but we (okay, my husband Vijay) were able to sand it down and add a dark stain.
I have attached a few vignettes: Framed block print stamps to complement the silk prints we received as a gift, framed coasters which make for inexpensive wall art, a vintage ornamental rolling-pin with a dried gourd that I did some Warli style drawings on. I have a thing for little teapots and collect them.” – Meera
I think if we were to visit Meera, we wouldn’t be able to keep our hands from picking up every object and marveling at how beautiful it is! Stay tuned for the final part of the home tour!
