Deepika lives with her family in Phoenix, Arizona and gives us a tour of her home today! The style is eclectic and personal, reflecting the family’s heritage and their unabashed love for color and pattern. It also keeps in mind the demands of contemporary life. “The focus has always been to keep it kid-friendly. I am one of those people who is proud to say that most of my furniture pieces are found on Craigslist, curbside or in thrift stores. I find joy in repurposing, reusing and recycling.”
“If I had to pick a favorite room, it’s our formal living room (pictured below). Except that it’s very informal. I chose not to use a rug here because the kids are always playing the piano, dressing up , dancing or putting up shows for us.
At any given time after school, there are at least 4 kids in our house dancing, singing, frolicking in that room, and we adults sit around consuming copious amounts of chai The light play is stunning throughout the day and the paint color is beautiful. I chose a grey/blue but it shows as blue, green and grey depending on the sunlight and somehow it’s still a very warm shade of color.” – Deepika
