On Photography And Creative Inspiration/Once Upon A Tea Time

The American photojournalist Dorothea Lange said it best,

On Photography And Creative Inspiration/Once Upon A Tea Time

We are so lucky to live in these times when all of us can learn to be photographers. I had never much used a camera until I started blogging and in the last 8 years, I have learnt, mainly through trial and error, how to take a picture. I know how to take a picture the way I want it to look but I am still learning at how to capture and portray a feeling, an atmosphere or ‘what is’  beyond what I see.

An afternoon spent playing with the camera settings and trying to capture and ‘hold still’ the light, colors and the objects is one of the most relaxing activities. I want to share with you some pictures that I took yesterday afternoon- the light was perfect, the colors looked so good together and plus there were spring blossoms! Blue and yellow are not a combination that I have paired before, but I loved how well they looked together. The object that sparked my interest was the yellow ‘kaavad’ that I bought from the OUATT market- there is always a feeling of goosebumps-on-my-skin and awe when a new, handmade creation comes home. It’s all about color and form and a visual jumpstart of the creative process! Plus, spring is an annual reminder that we can revel in all the colors around us, learn and renew ourselves! I hope you enjoy the photographs and that they add something serene to your day.
