Hello Monday and welcome to a new home tour! Today’s home belongs to Vinaya and Arun and is located outside of Boston. The first thing that struck me about their home was the gorgeous, creamy light, followed by the recurring color palette of blue and white. Sparkling sky blue, turquoise, and moody indigo, all pair effortlessly with white in this home and create a space that is modern, with just the right dash of boho added to the mix. And the marbled paper art?! Love! Vinaya gives us the tour…
“I am Vinaya, and I live with my husband Arun in our 2-bedroom apartment just outside of Boston. We are both programmers by profession, but I am taking some time off work now! We have been in our current apartment for a year and half. I had never put much thought into decorating any place before, but being at home meant I had a lot of time to do that. I slowly started with little projects at home, and soon fell in love with interiors. Now, I run a blog, Hip Hip Home, where I document everything that inspires me.”
We just redid our living room, with an aim to make it a bit more pulled together. We (well, me, to be honest) like graphic, modern interiors (with a love for geometry! How many triangles can you spot?) so the big “art” was my attempt to do just that. This room is west-facing and the sunlight that streams in from afternoon to sunset is glorious, and keeps me and my plants happy.
The dining room is more of a nook and the artwork is framed, marbled paper.
The shelves opposite the dining nook are a testament to how often things change around here. I assure you, it will look completely different if you were to visit next week!
The dresser in the master bedroom was a Craigslist find, given new life with paint! Clearly, we love the color blue around here! The 1870’s map of New York is special – I lived there for a few years, and my husband and I have made a lot of good memories in this city and it remains our favorite place to date. I hope you enjoyed the tour of our humble home!” – Vinaya
