There is a Gloria Vanderbilt quote that says decorating is autobiography. That’s probably why we are drawn to home tours- home decor is an expression of personal style, and a glimpse into our most private selves. To be invited in is a privilege. Today’s home tour is courtesy of Pinky and Aj who live in Toronto, ON. They share their home with their 2 teenage kids. Pinky blogs about her passion for decor at Pinkz Passion and husband Aj, who travels a lot on business, brings back beautiful finds from around the world. Every room has received the couples’ meticulous attention to design and detail. Pinky describes their style as a combination of traditional aesthetics and modern charm, with a big dose of personal style.

The entryway is graced by striking Ganesha artwork by their daughter and welcomes you into the home.

As Pinky says, any flat surface is fair game for her ‘design moments’ and there is nothing she loves more than to experiment, and mix & match classic and modern pieces to create a style that is uniquely their own.

The home has a dedicated puja (prayer) room and is graced with a collage of more of their daughters’ artwork.

“I love my generous, practical and well thought-out kitchen! It’s where my all-girls’ gang gathers up and starts  the gossip mills churning ;)! We stretched every step to tick off an impressive number of boxes that appear on anyone’s wish list for a kitchen” – Pinky

“Our family room is more casual and has witnessed many family game sessions, while dinner is getting ready.  A multihued stone wall creates a warm backdrop, and our family portraits from our ravine are positioned in the center of the room for maximum drama. It’s the perfect place to slink away with a book.  Thanks to the giant windows which frame beautiful views of the landscape outside, it’s also a great place to feel part of nature, and to bring the outdoors inside.” – Pinky

“Our home is our personal sanctuary, where we escape the hustle and bustle of the world, and  which echoes the warmth and reflection of loved ones.”- Pinky
