Hello Monday! I love this creative exercise where, at tea time, I have to find something to photograph that suits the mood of the day, and write what’s been on my mind today. I am usually home by this time, and to find fresh combinations and pairings is a challenge that I enjoy. With these pictures, I was thinking of spring (hope they bring the colors, movement, and joy of the coming spring season to you too), and new beginnings. I have been reading a lot of self-help books over the last few years. That sounds like a midlife cliché, but, on the positive side, hey, all that soul searching and reflection can really pay off. You take a good look at yourself, see where you are headed, and revaluate your priorities. You may realize that one thing that makes your heart sing, and now you make more time for it. You may find that you are carrying some baggage, and it’s been contributing adversely to your happiness. You don’t wait for New Year’s to keep it down or let it go; you can do it right this instant. The one book that has really helped is Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth: Awakening To Your Life’s Purpose; though to call it a self-help book is too small a description for such a tour de force. It’s the book I would want if I was marooned on a desert island or in the middle of a crises. I read from it every night, and it’s a constant reminder that new beginnings are a breath away. Do you have a book that you would want no matter where you were? Do share! – Priya
