Attitude Of Gratitude /Gratitude Journal/ Collectivitea

Hello Monday! I took a break from posts on Sunday and feel ready to tackle a new week. Is it too soon to feel a difference in my attitude towards life because I am maintaining a gratitude journal? I don’t know, but what I do notice is that when I am in the middle of a wonderful moment- spending time with family, laughing with friends, having an ‘aha’ moment when I’m reading- I slow down. It’s like my mind is reminding me that this is what life is about. I am aware of the beauty of the moment in a way that I wasn’t before. (And not just because I am mentally squirreling away the memory to write it down here.) The awesome thing I am learning is that just shifting into gratitude can change even the not-so-great moments. So today, I am thankful for Tony Robbins and his videos because there is always something that I learn. I am also thankful for the internet because I love sharing this journey with you. My boys cracked me up today. The younger one is learning about genetic mutations and was shown a picture in school of this fruit fly (Drosophila sp.) with a mutation that caused it to have legs growing out of where its antennae were supposed to be “Talk about feeling like a victim,” the conversation went,” first you are a fly, and nobody cares. Then they experiment on you all the time, and then you have legs coming out of your eyes…seriously, what a life!” There was a somber silence as the two of them contemplated the misery. I burst out laughing and made a mental note that anytime I felt like a victim I was going to remember that the fruit flies have it far worse! Alright, what are you grateful for? I would love to hear from you! To read the journal entries so far, click here.- Priya
