Gratitude Journal

The days are flying by, and maybe all I will remember about 2017 is that it passed by in a blur. It’s been a few weeks since I started this gratitude journal and I am increasingly aware of how many people, things, circumstances, and conveniences I take for granted every single day. (Louise Hay has a wonderful morning gratitude meditation on YouTube that you should totally try if you want to count some of those things!) You know how we sometimes (many times) think that once I have this or that thing or situation, I am going to be so happy? We forget all the stuff that we have to happy about, and focus on the one thing we think we need for our happiness. Writing this journal has made me aware of the times I do this and helped me shift back into looking at the glass as half full instead of half empty. Today, I am grateful for my nieces and the fun they bring into my life. With 3 men/boys outnumbering me at home, getting to spend time with girls, and indulging in the joy, beauty, and power of being female is always a treat. I got to attend a musical concert that my older niece was a part of and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Grateful to be the doting aunt and be a part of their lives!

I am also grateful for the creamy light that filters through the closet window. It requires almost no effort on my part to capture these jewelry pieces (I was debating what jewelry to wear to the concert). That temple jewelry red is one of my all time favorite colors. On another note, I am also grateful that it is the season for fairs, shows and concerts. There is so much inspiration everywhere I turn. It’s your turn now! What are you grateful for? I would love to hear from you! To read the journal entries so far, click here. -Priya
