Gratitude Journal / Collectivitea

The first thing that I am grateful for today is a housecleaning service, a mundane but useful luxury. A clutter-free environment has been found to be important to our ability to focus and be productive, and a good clean up is always welcome! I feel that I get more done when everything is exactly in it’s place and that includes having the figurines, tchotchkes, books, textiles etc. just so (the rest of my family rolls their eyes!). The internet was out for a few hours and I was grateful because that meant I couldn’t be online – this is a holdover from my recent vacation when I rediscovered the joys of reading an actual book rather than reading something online (though this article is a great read on how you can’t really blame the internet for everything!). At lunch, and sans internet, I was reading a romance novel where the hero tells the heroine that he is grateful for every problem, difficulty, and roadblock that he has ever faced because they all led up to him meeting her, the love of his life. Our triumphs and to a greater extent, our failures, and how we deal with them makes us who we are today, whether it leads to the love of our life or a life that we love. And I discovered I am grateful for the series of life events that resulted in my being right where I am today. Also extending that gratitude to romance novels for their never-fail happy endings! What are you grateful for today?

So true! I firmly believe that this is the journey we were always supposed to lead and has made you what you are today. It eliminates the need for comparing yourself to others or indulging in the what ifs. Speaking of romance novel, its been ages since I have read a good one! Could you share the name of the book you’re reading?:)

Hi Priyanka, I have been going through romance novels at a very brisk pace this summer and the one this was from, I think, How To Lose A Duke In 10 Days (it’s there on Amazon). I also read some by Jillian Hunter. Like I said, I have been reading on my phone at a very rapid rate 🙂
