Helping Someone / Gratitude Journal

The days are really long and action packed. I’m on vacation but it’s a busy one. One of the writer-teachers whose work I follow wrote that helping someone is not an unidirectional act, that of you helping someone in need. Instead the person who is being helped is actively involved because they allow themselves to be helped. Have I written that clearly? Hearing this, I had one of those aha moments that forever alter the way you look at things. When I allow someone to help me, I too participate and create space to receive their efforts. And vice versa. Today, I am grateful for the opportunity to help people and that they have chosen to accept my help happily. Again in Maya Angelou’s words, “When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.” It’s a profound lesson that I will carry with me. In smaller things, I am also happy that someone created a natural Odomos cream (google that!). Have a fabulous day! _ Priya

This post is part of a gratitude journal that I maintain and update almost daily. To read the gratitude journal entries so far, click here. I am happy to be back writing here and hope to see you everyday. Have a wonderful week! – Priya Image credits/copyright: Studio Collectivitea
